Energime University Calling

“Be the change that you wish to see in the world.”
― Mahatma Gandhi

Every great journey begins with a single step. With that first step we make a commitment. Though that goal may be distant, the end of which we can only imagine, we know the importance of the journey and we press on with focused will and unstoppable determination.

For humankind to make through the 21st century we must re-educate and retrain our population to manage challenges no other generation of humans have had to face. At stake is the health of our planet’s environment, our rich bio-diversity, and the future of our children. We cannot fail.

Energime University is a movement to unite the collective efforts of our global population. Empowered with the specific knowledge and skills required for us to answer these critical challenges we will reverse our current course and usher in a new age of global prosperity and opportunity. You can help. Please support this effort and lend your voice to ours.

Years ago, during the golden age of movies there was a movie called “Gone with the Wind”. A character named Rhett Butler tells Scarlett O’Hara: “Frankly My Dear, I don’t give a damn.” In that scene Rhett had reached a point where he no to longer cared.

I wonder, Is that what is plaguing so many of us around the world today? Living through so many traumatic experiences has left many of us numb. Are we disgusted or afraid? Do we feel helpless and just walk away?

Then I remembered a scene from another movie; “Lord of the Rings.” A character named Frodo, a little fella, is given a task to destroy a Ring. The powers of the ring are evil. Still, no matter what comes his way, Frodo continues on his journey. Although he finds many hurdles, road blocks and numerous attempts to destroy him, Frodo perseveres.

Along the way, Frodo comes across Samwise, Meriadoc, and other characters who will help him and protect him, so he can reach his destination. This little fella’s task was to dispose of the ring, slinging it into a fire pit, where it could no longer do harm.

During his journey, Frodo comes across Saruman the White, an evil Wizard who is churning away, destroying all the trees and also creating hideous monsters.

Unfortunately, this particular scene in the movie, is no longer a fantasy.

Today, at this moment, trees are being felled all over the world. The destruction is real, and terrifying.

This negative force of energy is felt by every thing on this planet; human beings, brother and sisters, and all nations. Trees, birds and many other creatures are disappearing right before our eyes. What will happen next? Who will be next… you and I?

Interestingly, in another movie, “Superman” starts with a scene showing a planet and trembling and falling apart. Superman’s parents put all their hope in the child and send him towards Planet Earth for safety and well being.

Our Earth!

One he learns to love and protect.

This story also is no longer a fantasy. Our planet, Mother Earth, is falling apart at an alarming rate and with an over abundance of us on it.   Around us we hea

What do we do when we know a storm is brewing on the horizon? You will see human beings preparing and protecting their community. Putting sandbags upon sandbag as a deterrent because their lives will depend on it. This is where a community collectively comes  together, working to keep everyone safe.

In our country’s history there was a moment when one man, Paul Revere,  shouted from one village to the other, as he cantered on horseback shouting: “The British are coming! The British are coming!” Where would we be today if no one had heeded  Paul Reeve’s call?

Throughout today there are many remaining Indian Tribes. Mother Earth is crying out to them, loudly, desperately, every day to them, to send the message of how to cherish and love our earth.

There are those so hell-bent on stripping our Earth of every single resource on this planet for purposes of greed and for their self aggrandizement.

This greed divides us. It creates fear and when we human beings are afraid, we cannot think clearly. One of the things we human beings take pride in, is the ability to think and analyze a situation? Isn’t it?

Think!!! Analyze!!!  What is happening around all of us? I hear so many people say: “Somebody should do something!” It reminds me of a statement one of my university professors brought up in class.

He said: “You are going to hurt somebody!”

Many members of the class stated that they would not hurt anybody.

The professor said: “You are going to hurt somebody!”

Again many students in the classrooms said: We are not going to hurt anybody!”

The professor repeated the statement: “You are going to hurt somebody!” for the third time.

In the back of the classroom a very shy student raised her hand and then uttered these very prophetic words:

“We are somebody.”

Our children, our future pioneers are “somebody!”

Energime University calling!

Calling Earth.

You hold the key. We all need to help empower our children to keep our Earth vibrant and alive.

We have many planets in our solar system that have somehow been destroyed?

Were we there, before we arrived on Earth?

I ask questions. Do you? Have you ever thought about how great athletes are

coached and coached and coached in preparation for the Olympics?

How in baseball, basketball, football, soccer and even golf – the athletes go over and over and over their coaches’ program – fully knowing that the coaches greatest desire is to see their athletes shine into brilliancy.

So why don’t we do the same for our children? They are the future stewards of this planet. Why leave to chance the future of these children and young adults?

We have “coaches”, persons eager to share their knowledge. These “coaches” can share their access to the latest state of the art techniques. Share with future “olympians” – the future pioneers; our children, our young adults.

How much emphasis is given to the education for the children to achieve self-sufficiency? How are we “Coaching” the future generation to grow into becoming knowledgeable stewards of the current resources dwindling on Mother Earth?

We have fun watching our favorite teams win. We enthusiastically cheer with respect the coaches who bring about the athletes potential to a full flown skill. We set the trajectory for them to win.

Do we provide the same caliber of “coaching to our children? There are educators – “coaches”. Educators that can, by sharing their hard earned knowledge and wisdom, provide truly strong scaffolding for the children to safely walk across chasms of neglect, ignorance, deprivation, etc….

With watchful eyes;  to “coach”, to educate, to empower future generations with the knowledge and necessary skills so the generational relay team has a fighting chance.  Prepare the future pioneers to grab the baton, Planet Earth, fearlessly and hit the pavement running to become Olympians in the race to save Planet Earth.

Energime University Calling! Can you hear us? Will you share the dreams and visions you hold dearly in your heart? The dreams and vision you have been holding for your children? Grandchildren? Nephew? Nieces?

Energime University Calling! Share your time, treasure and talent.  Help us funs the true race for the future. Thank you.

Metanoia – A transformative change of heart

My daughter turns twelve tomorrow and I am amazed at the speeding of the years. Wasn’t it just yesterday I held her for first time? As her huge blue eyes held mine, I wondered how her life would be, who she would become and how her world and mine would entwine. Twelve years later and I have a spontaneous, vibrant young adult still figuring out who she is while learning to handle life in all its myriad of subtle yet complex issues. Like, is it okay to be gorgeous and feminist? If boys are so annoying why are they also pretty fascinating? And, dominating Middle and High School, which is like a world within a world. If you think about it, humanity itself is like a young adult, maybe a bit farther along than my twelve-year-old, but pretty adolescent teenager for sure.

As a race we have grown to assert dominion of this wild world, mastered the art of over-communication, and learned a lot about what works and what doesn’t, or have we? Our formative years are also pretty similar; as we spend the first part of our childhood in blissful selfishness, a ‘me me me’ world where we think and act without regard for the consequence. After we figured out we could light a fire, develop basic language and grow food we pretty much went hog wild with it. Like our children we were well cared for; our planet was an abundant supply of what we needed to survive; and like toddlers with a favorite toy we wanted to own and control it. The notion of protecting it, or sharing it didn’t occur to us as we assumed it would just always be there and we certainly didn’t like sharing it. Like a spiders web we wove complex systems of control and manipulation to protect what we felt was ours and acquire what was actually yours. If you are reminded of our economic and government system, I’d suggest that’s no accident right now.

So the developmental stages of humans become a metaphor for the growth of humanity. As teenagers we now struggle between our inherent need to control and the awakening to the truth in our hearts that maybe actually its time to get real and responsible. Like crossing the threshold into adult hood, the cost of entry becomes the accepting of responsibility. Accepting our own part in how things are and being willing to make choices and change to improve that. We pay the toll of that now, or a huge price later.

We are indeed in the midst of a Metanoia.

noun

  1. change in one’s way of life resulting from penitence or spiritual conversion.

Conversion comes as we realize that our planet isn’t an endless supply of goo for our cars or water for our golf courses. As the last squandered toy lays broken we figure out that throwing it across the room wasn’t a good idea.  After centuries of over consumption and the deaths of too many in endless wars that achieve nothing, I see our spiritual awakening dawning. Genuinely, I see signs that our hearts are opening to the awareness that there is more to this existence than worship at the holy altar of stuff.

Our Metanoia needs to come quickly, and consciousness follows a million wake-up calls. What will that take? It’s in the seemingly tough choices that actually aren’t tough, choices made in our selfish and disconnected state. What car do I drive? How warm is my house? How many gadgets can I have?

It’s time and we are ready for the next stage of our development. As slumbering adolescents we each need to wake and rise to the next level of living.  Stop waiting for someone else to fix this, for a silver bullet from the technology sector. The knowledge, technology and experts we need stand available and waiting. They stand waiting for our change of heart.

It’s Yours to Keep ……. Always!

To take time to invest in ourselves is a gift of present action to create a better reality. An investment into our futures has the potential to lead to something bigger and better that will open opportunities for us that we would otherwise never have had been given a chance to receive.

Whatever you are investing in right now, be it investing your energy, time, or money into creating better skills, better education, or personal growth, I salute you and believe that you are forward-thinking and highly motivated person. The younger you start to invest in yourself, the better the chance is that you will have more years of learning and mastering yourself and your life, allowing you to become a better individual each and every day, which results in you living your life to the fullest, each and every day.

I began mastering my life later on in my years and it took me until I was in my early 30’s.

I have always been an over-achiever in my work and had built many businesses, and worked my way to the top of the corporate ladder through hard-work and dedication.

I educated myself in WordPress website development skills, online marketing, became certified in sales, and a whole other host of skills that I knew I needed to run a successful online business. The world of business is speeding up and is now ruled predominantly through social media. So in order for me to tap into that market I had to learn how to sell through my electronic device and to convince others to buy through theirs.

I invested thousands and thousands of dollars into mentors to learn how to make it happen and spent hours doing what others didn’t have the time for. The more I learned, the more money I made and the more people I served on a world-wide scale. My results were starting to show from all the skills I was learning and so:

During the past 3 years I have received the honor of:

Becoming a #1 International Best Selling Author, twice!

  • Co-Authoring another 14 Best Selling Books
  • Smashing the Amazon.com best-seller charts in THREE categories in ONLY 12 HOURS of launching her 1st sole written book! And AGAIN with her 2nd solo book!

  • Successfully launched and sold out the very first Missing Piece Calendar Girl Retreat in ONLY 48 hours!
  • Built a worldwide support campaign for domestic violence survivors
  • Help changed the lives of  thousands of people

And I did this all through the power of taking time to invest in me!

So, it’s like I always say: Somebody can hurt you, steal from you, betray you, push you down, abuse you, call you names and hurt you, BUT! Knowledge is power and it strikes back by allowing you to lead influentially, and with confidence.

The knowledge you acquire along this journey called life is yours to keep forever. Nobody can take away your skills that you have mastered in the time you have lived on this planet. The skills you master are the skills that will stay with you forever and they’re yours to keep always! Plus, I wanted to leave this article on an inspirational note and make you see that if I can do this then SO CAN YOU!

My only advice would be just don’t leave it as long as I did to get started, and the younger you start to invest in your skills, the quicker a master of your own reality you will become.

Much Love and Success

Energime University Community

Everyday people sharing their ideas with us sustainable about education and training:

Concerning education: What would you consider a great call to action?

*****

“I believe that there should be a call to action for schools to teach the children about the importance of growing their food clean/organically while they allow them space on school grounds to experience hands on. They need to also include teaching the health value of being involved with growing your own food in an abundance and sharing with the communities around them.”  ~ Carolyn Dunagan

*****

“One of the most important lessons anyone can learn is “survival”.  The greatest gift a parent can give a child is the ability to survive – physical survival, emotional survival, mental survival, spiritual survival.  That is, to know that personal sustainability is within their power- to be sufficient in life’s basics of food, shelter, clothing, and to move up the “hierarchy of needs” from there.  So an educational call to action would be ” Learn some skills to promote survival through success proven education.”

~ Dr. Julia Scalise

*****

“Here in our Province the funding to educate our children is cut every year. If they think educate is expensive, this government should try ignorance!! When I was a boy to be a teacher was something I always wanted to be because they were so well respected a pillar of the community. Now, it’s all different”  ~ John Hood

*****

“Sure… I would say something about our need to educate people on emotional intelligence, and that through heart centered education creativity and academics would thrive.” Betsy Chasse

*****

“That’s a good question, Norma, but I am not sure if I understand it correctly. Would you mind expanding on your thought, please.” Alexandra

“This would be a call for action to be active with Energime University.  EUC2: Energime University Calling – Energime University Community; How do we attract readers, donors, volunteers? What is the best way for them to donate time, talent and/or treasure? I am not sure, but did I already ask you to write an article for EUC2?” Norma

“No, you did not, Norma, but I am happy to. I believe the importance is to make the connection between every day life and sustainability. For many, every day life does not include sustainability yet. People feel that it may not fit in their lives, it’s inconvenient, or that they will not have an impact because they are only one person.

I believe that Energime can make this connection, We combine the academic world with the hands-on community.” Alexandra

“Great! Well, I knew you were going to write an article. My memory’s wi-fi connection is faulty, need to eat more spinach.” Norma  ~ Alexandra Roach & Norma Burnson

*****

“Concerning education: What would you consider a great call to action?” Norma

“Interesting question. What is this for?” Shellie

“A call to action for a short article I am writing for Energime University. Why would someone get involved?” Norma

“Why would someone get involved in Ed or Energime University in particular?” Shellie

“To empower children with the education and skills needed to deal with future climate change. Sustainable Education, becoming ethical stewards of planet earth.” Norma

“Nice!” Shellie

“LOL! Must be the empowerment factor! Thanks!” Norma.

~ Shellie Hipsky & Norma Burnson

*****

“Teach me the how and I’ll figure out the what.” Adrian

“Great!” Norma

“Now all you need do is slot in the other four Ws – Who? When? Where? and Why?

– and you’ll have a full house and win a free toffee apple.” Adrian
