People with autism are prone to dying prematurely []. Children (up to 23 years of age in the USA) with autism are prone to suicide ideations and attempts []. Adults (aged 21 and upwards in UK) with Asperger’s Syndrome also prone to suicide ideations and attempts [].

Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome are classed as serious mental diseases by the United Nations World Health Organisation International Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Diseases and Related Health Problems. But the American Psychiatric Association has not included the label or characteristic symptoms of Asperger’s Syndrome in their Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. “Adults with Asperger Syndrome often suffer with secondary depression due to social isolation, loneliness, social exclusion, lack of community services, under-achievement, and unemployment. Their depression and risk of suicide are preventable with the appropriate support. This study should be a wake-up call for the urgent need for high quality services, to prevent the tragic waste of even a single life.” [Prof. Simon Baron-Cohen from the Autism Research Centre at the University of Cambridge re:].

The former County Surveyors Society of the United Kingdom and Commonwealth of Nations was the haven for people with Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome from 1992. But it was wound up in 1997 by the United Kingdom government at the behest of the United Nations World Health Organisations. I was the Society’s last official tutor of suicide avoidance and prevention and have been coaching and counselling suicide avoidance and prevention ever since. The business of the Society was kept an Official Secret until 2014 (25 years after the passage of the Official Secrets Act 1989).

So I created the County Surveyors Society International Limited as a formal not-for-profit business shortly after the former Society’s business was released from secrecy and published an autobiographical trilogy and compendium about my life of Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome to draw attention to the problem of Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome suicide ideation and attempts and my experience of coaching and counselling suicide avoidance and prevention. They went viral in the United Kingdom that night globally in a week. Arianna Huffington, the Editor in Chief of The Huffington Post therefore invited me to ‘have a voice’ on that prestigious international news and blogs publication. This enabled me to have a conversation with interested parties in the United States and I committed to devising a holistic solution to the autie / aspie suicide problem. I did it in the form of a pro bono 7 steps in 98 days program administered by email autoresponder []. The first step proved itself to be remarkably successful. In crowd sourced field trials 99.9% of the people who tried were satisfied with just that step and went no further. One of them happened to be on the start up team of Energime University and introduced me to the Director, Bill Sosinsky. He asked me how he could help me and I could help him. So I suggested a collaborative joint venture, whereby I would provide coaching and counselling in suicide avoidance and prevention to any student of the university needing it. And this web page is the beginning of this venture. As students seldom have sufficient free time available from their studies to pursue a full coaching and counselling program of 7 steps in 98 days, I have compiled a taster course, of 7 steps in 7 days [] to help students decide whether they need the full 98 days of coaching and counselling, especially as 99.9% of the crowd sourced field trials guinea pigs needed to go further than the first step.
